Yash Chandarara from St Mary’s High School, won the city final title and will now fight it out with the winners from other cities, in the national level skills competition
Rajkot, 15th February, 2011: IDEA Cellular, the pan-India mobile operator conducted a unique program, “Kaho what’s Your Idea” – a national inter-school skills fest, for the kids of Rajkot. ‘Kaho What’s Your Idea’ is aimed at initiating a movement which is focused at developing the school children’s all round personality, by engaging them in activities which promote Logical thinking; Weaving a story; Application of Memory skills and Real-Life skills; besides honing their General Knowledge and Current Affairs.
250 school children from 25 schools from across the city participated in the event. 6 students qualified for the next round where they competed against each other to win the title of “City Winner”.
Yash Chandarara from St Mary’s High School, Akshadha Easwar from Delhi Public School and Mukuzbical Tim from P.V. Modi School (Top 3 finalists) were selected for city finals.

The City Finals comprise of rounds like Instant Recharge, Talk Time, Memory card, Key pad locked and Speed Dial which were specially designed by counselors, principals and faculty from different schools and institutes from the country, to gauge the student’s thought process and allow them to speak their mind and test themselves in a holistic manner.
School children from Rajkot enjoyed the skills test, even if not everybody turned out a winner.
According to Mr. Puneet Krishnan, Senior Vice President, Operations, Rajasthan –IDEA Cellular, “We are delighted to engage with the bright sparks of Rajkot with our unique national inter-school skills fest – ‘Kaho what’s Your Idea’. This will provide a platform to the city kids to test and hone their own skills and also to compete with their peers from across the country”.
Idea’s ‘Kaho What’s Your Idea’ program will reach out to over 2 lakh children in 3,000 schools across 100 Indian cities, with the support of Derek O’Brien & Associates, which is also the content partner for the initiative.
