Raipur, 8th June, 2011: Bharti Walmart, the joint venture between Bharti Enterprises and Walmart Stores Inc for wholesale, business-to-business and cash-and-carry operations in India organized a blood donation camp in association with Indian Red Cross Society at Best Price Modern Wholesale store, which is soon-to-be-launched, in Raipur. Employees of Best Price Modern Wholesale store also volunteered for ‘Green Raipur‘ drive to conserve the environment. Both the blood donation camp and the ‘Greening’ initiative aligns with the company’s overarching goal of serving its customers beyond the store and to be ‘Store of the Community’ and environment sustainability.

Employees of Best Price Modern Wholesale store donated 26 units of blood. Dr. D.V Baghel, Blood Bank Officer at Indian Red Cross Society led the 11 member team to conduct the blood donation camp. All participating donors were awarded certificates of appreciation and blood-donor’s card for their contribution to society.

Tree Plantation activity was undertaken with participation of 35 employees of Best Price Modern Wholesale store to plant 100 tree saplings inside and outside the store area. The activity concluded with distribution of 200 tree saplings to shops, establishments and offices near the store to build the area look greener.

Employees of Best Price Modern Wholesale store will continue to engage in initiatives to serve the community and the people of Raipur.
