Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham today announced the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Kunglia Tekniska Hogskolan (KTH), Royal Institute of Technology, one of Scandinavia’s largest institutes of technology in Sweden.
This broad based MOU aims at fostering academic and research collaboration in the field of science, engineering research, education and technology transfer.
- This would facilitate research collaboration mainly in the fields of energy technology, information and communication technology, material technology, medical and biomedical technology and transportation technology.
- The agreement will allow the exchange of faculty, research associates and students in research and other educational purposes.
- The MOU has been signed for a period of five years.
Speaking on the collaboration Dr. M P Chandrasekharan, Dean – Amrita School of Engineering said “We are delighted to sign the MoU with KTH (Royal Institute of Technology), which is not just programmatic, but broad-based in nature. This understanding will facilitate joint research in various engineering streams and help build a stronger knowledge base.”
Expressing his happiness about the tie up Mr Stefan Ostlund, Dean – Electrical Engineering, KTH (Royal Institute of Technology) said,“Recognising the global nature of today’s scientific, business and industrial problems and the need to address them by international co-operation we are happy to sign this agreement with Amrita School of Engineering. This arrangement utilizes the vast knowledge bank.”
About Amrita School of Engineering
The first Amrita School of Engineering was established in Coimbatore in the year 1994. In 2002, two additional Schools of Engineering were established in Amritapuri(Kollam) and Bangalore.
